Leaders extend condolences to Indian counterparts

VGP – State President Nguyễn Minh Triết, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and Deputy PM, FM Phạm Gia Khiêm respectively extended their condolences to Indian President Pratibha Devisingh Patil, PM Manmohan Singh, and FM S. M. Krishna over consequences of the worst floods in southern India.

At least 300 people were killed and 1.5 million people have been displaced in the states of Karnataka, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh after days of torrential rain, local officials said.

More than 200 people have been killed in Karnataka alone, said H.V. Parashwanath, secretary of Karnataka's disaster monitoring agency.
